Bruno Brookes

Bruno Brookes is a British radio personality and presenter who made his name as a DJ on BBC Radio 1 during the 1980s and 1990s. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire in 1959, Brookes grew up in the West Midlands and developed an early passion for music and broadcasting.

He began his career as a DJ at Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton in 1980 before moving to BBC Radio 1 in 1984. There, he quickly became a popular presenter, hosting a variety of shows over the years, including the weekday afternoon show, the weekday evening show, and the weekend breakfast show.

Brookes was known for his energetic and upbeat style, and his ability to connect with listeners. He was a prominent figure in the British pop music scene, regularly hosting live events and presenting chart countdowns. 

In addition to his radio work, Brookes was also a regular presenter on BBC television, hosting music shows and other entertainment programs. He was a familiar face on popular shows such as "Top of the Pops" and "The Oxford Road Show", and was known for his affable and engaging manner.

Brookes continued to work for BBC Radio 1 until 1995, when he left the station to pursue other opportunities in the media industry.
