Question

You must be pretty chuffed to hit the No.2 spot?

Answer

It's not bad a for a first attempt is it! It shows that the record's been received well, so I'm happy.

Question

Were you a bit peeved that you didn't get to the Top spot?

Answer

No! No, in a way, there'll be less pressure on me the next time around. I'm just happy I was in the Top 5.

Question

So how did you come up with the new single?

Answer

Originally I set out to write a ballad. A guy called Fitzgerald Scott, who worked with Keith Sweat back in the day, came over from America to work on it with me. We all sat down to write, but it was such a sunny day that I didn't feel like writing a down-hearted track. We decided to go for something a bit more up tempo, with a Michael Jackson 'Off The Wall' type of vibe. We just wanted a happy, light-topic song. I wanted it to have a commercial edge, but also keep a good old school feel to it.

Question

Will your next single be similar in style?

Answer

I'd like to show all sides of me. I wanted to be as broad reaching as possible with my first single. My album has some harder street tracks, more ballads and some soulful stuff too. I wanted to explore different genres on the album, but with this single I just wanted to introduce people generally to my sound.

Question

You've had an amazing year. How would you describe it?

Answer

Record DealWow! This year has been brilliant. It's done a complete 360! This time last year I was probably just applying to get on to the TV show and now I've signed a 5 album recording deal, I'm recording my first album and I've dropped a single that's been well-received. What can I say, I'm so happy!

Question

Obviously Fame Academy launched your career, but have there been any disadvantages?

Answer

So far, there haven't been any disadvantages. I've not experienced any stigma for being associated with the show. I've had my voice put out to thousands of people, I've signed a recording deal and I'm here now!

Question

Are you living the high life now?

Answer

You could call it that! I'm partying, but working hard day and night too. There are harder things to do in life and I've certainly done them before.
