First edition of TOTP to be shown in the new permanent Friday evening slot.
Strangely the end credits of the show are shown 20 minutes into the 30 minute episode.
Paul Weller performs two new album tracks live on TOTP without a presenter segment in between each performance for the last 10 minutes of the show.
Presenter, Mark Owen, tells viewers how they can enter a new 'meet and greet' competition to spend time with one of their favourite stars currently in the charts.
Right at the start of the show an artist does not introduce the opening titles of the program, instead there is a 3 second montage of the acts appearing on the show alongside the TOTP theme tune and someone saying "It’s Friday night, its Top of the Pops."
Celine Dion does a mini-interview, mentioning the new Friday night TOTP slot, before performing her song.
