Trivia
Presenters now start the show before the opening titles roll, with Jo Whiley knocking down a big polystyrene number 1, "It is Friday, it's 7:30, it's still number one, it's Top of the Pops"
Chris Cowey’s first episode as TOTP executive producer.
From this episode onwards performances start and end with the presenter speaking over them. The chart rundown is changed, with "Red Hot Pop" being removed, and the presenter reading the Top 10 over a current chart track. Vertical end credits now scroll on the right side of the screen.
