1969 Episode Guide

In 1969, music blended rock, pop, soul, and progressive rock. The charts featured mainstream pop and experimental sounds as rock explored complex arrangements and themes. Soul remained popular with danceable tracks and ballads. Folk rock emphasised storytelling and acoustic instruments, while early hints of glam rock and heavy rock began to emerge. The 60s was drawing to a close. Music was changing, and so was TOTP, with TOTP broadcasting regularly in colour by the end of the year.
