During one of the presenter links, 3 Radio Times covers from 1983 are displayed. One of the Radio 1 DJs, one for the 1000th TOTP, and one for Steve Wright.
For 'Uptown Girl' by Billy Joel, the music video is spliced intermittently between the TOTP audience dancing after the presenters close the show.
This episode has not been repeated on BBC Four since late 2012, as it is presented by Dave Lee Travis.
