In November 2003, a new visual identity was introduced to the weekly show by the recently appointed Executive Producer, Andi Peters. This was a desperate attempt to revitalise the show and enhance its ratings. The programme underwent a full rebrand, briefly being renamed “All New Top of the Pops” during this period.
The revamped opening title sequence featured an electrifying cityscape composed of yellow, orange, and red hues, bathed in a musical wave of sound. As the musical wave pulsed, a futuristic landscape emerged, accompanied by dancers emerging from the sound wave and executing acrobatic movements in sync with the TOTP theme tune. The opening title sequence concluded with the sound wave logo appearing alongside the new TOTP logo, before zooming into the cityscape and transitioning to the TOTP studio. The new theme tune, “Now Get Out of That (and This),” was a remix of “Now Get Out of That” by Tony Gibber, which had previously been used on TOTP between 1991 and 1995.
This presentation package remained in use until the weekly broadcasts of Top of the Pops ceased in July 2006.
